Map layout

Use the Map layout to explore a graph whose nodes represent locations. It places nodes according to their geographic coordinates on a map and draws edges between their displayed endpoints.

Data requirements

The selected property must contain valid longitude and latitude values in the WGS 84 coordinate reference system (EPSG:4326). See geographic preparation documentation for information about converting coordinate systems. Map properties lists only geopoint properties available in the current graph result.

Nodes without a valid value for their selected geopoint property are not displayed. An edge is displayed only when both of its endpoint nodes are displayed.

Limitations

The map layout uses a CARTO online basemap. If the basemap cannot be loaded because of network restrictions, the graph cannot be displayed on the map.

The selected layout and map-property choices are view settings stored in your browser for the current graph. They are not part of the shared graph configuration.

The Expand neighbors feature is not yet supported in the Map layout.
