Managing Catalog Collections¶
Catalog Collections can be created by anyone whose security group has been granted permission to create Catalog Collections by the instance admin in Global group permissions.
Catalog Collections settings¶
Catalog Collection admins can edit the collection’s name, description, icon color, and tags.
Metadata completeness¶
Catalog Collection admins can select Metadata Completeness to define requirements for datasets published to the collection:
Mandate dataset descriptions checks that published datasets have long descriptions.
Mandate column descriptions checks that published datasets have descriptions for their columns.
When either requirement is enabled, the Catalog Collection displays a metadata completeness status for its datasets. By default, datasets that do not meet a selected requirement are marked with a warning. Select Prevent publication to prevent the publication of datasets that do not meet the selected requirements. This option is available only when at least one requirement is enabled.
Managing Catalog Collection Users¶
Catalog Collection admins can also add or remove Dataiku users and groups and change their roles from the collection’s security settings.
To manage users and roles, select Edit security settings from the … menu of a Catalog Collection.
Catalog Collection Roles¶
Within a Catalog Collection, there are three roles: Admin, Contributor, and Reader.
Admins control access to the Catalog Collection by adding and removing users and assigning them roles. They can also edit the Catalog Collection settings or delete the Catalog Collection.
Contributors can publish assets to the Catalog Collection or remove them. To publish an asset from a project, a Contributor also needs the relevant project-level permission. See Publishing to a Catalog Collection for more information.
Readers can access the Catalog Collection and interact with the assets they are authorized to view.
