Snowflake Cortex AI

Agent Management discovers Cortex agents in Snowflake databases and schemas and collects their interaction telemetry.

Connection and discovery

Use a Snowflake connection accessible to Agent Management. Discovery can be restricted to selected databases and schemas. The connection role needs access to the agents and their metadata; telemetry collection also requires permission to query agent events through SNOWFLAKE.LOCAL.GET_AI_OBSERVABILITY_EVENTS. Invocation requires permission to run the agent.

Supported capabilities

  • Inventory and structure: discovers agent configuration, models, tools, and available deployment metadata.

  • Interaction logs and traces: collects source spans and reconstructs agent interactions and unified traces.

  • Tokens and cost: derives model usage from collected telemetry and available pricing.

  • Usage: active-user and conversation counts are supported when source identifiers are available.

  • Uptime tests and agent reviews: supported through agent invocation.

Limitations and platform actions

Separate platform-metric fetching is unavailable through this connector. Recent traces are collected after the configured stability delay so that spans can be assembled.

The platform stop action permanently deletes the Snowflake agent. It is not a reversible disable operation, and Agent Management cannot re-enable the deleted agent.
