Data Science Studio handles Excel spreadsheets saved in Excel 1997 to 2007, and automatically detects them. It will also detect which of the sheets in the file might contain data, and on which row the column headers could be.
Parsing Excel files requires large amounts of memory. It is not uncommon to require 50 to 100 times the size of the Excel file in memory. To open large Excel files, you will probably need to increase the maximum amount of memory that the “backend” and “jek” processes can use.
